With extremely saddened hearts, we announce the recent passing of Ouida Peterson, our much-loved Vice President of Education. Ouida passed away at her Texas ranch on November 23, 2011.

A vivacious, award-winning speaker who was nationally recognized for her benefits expertise, Ouida could keep a room both entertained and informed at the same time. Her personable demeanor and Southern charm made seminar participants feel like they were lifelong friends.

Ouida received numerous industry awards, most notably the Outstanding Texan of the Year and the Texas Association of Health Underwriters most prestigious honor, the Hollis Roberson Award. She also was the first recipient of the William G. Wetzel Excellence in Public Speaking Award - a special honor for Ouida since she credited Bill as her inspiration, mentor, and hero.

Outside of work, Ouida's love of life continued. She entertained friends by playing the piano, was very involved in church activities, found homes for rescued animals, and enjoyed running her cattle ranch and wrangling grandchildren.

A long-serving CONEXIS team member, Ouida was a favorite among people who knew her. Throughout her 14-year tenure, she brought abundant joy with her to the workplace. Our CONEXIS family will miss her deeply.

Please join us in sending condolences to her family during this difficult time, and if you would like to share your memories and express your condolences, please do so in the online guest book.

Sincerely,

Allen Gehrki
